Legacy Application Remediation, Migration and Platform Transformation

Many firms have entrenched, difficult-to-remove application systems and collaboration environments. GMG specializes in assessment, rationalization and migration of such legacy systems (LotusNotes, Cobal, older .NET and SharePoint) to more powerful modern platforms (SharePoint 2010, Office 365, Google Apps, Open Source and more).

Our approach is risk-adverse and thoroughly proven at some of the largest collaboration application platform migrations known at Fortune 100 Energy, Financial Services, Manufacturers and Government Agencies. Not only do we move our clients from legacy systems to modern, we do so in a way that brings only applications and data with true business value into the new environment.

Our Asset Recovery Practice contract work has required interaction with various organizations that have escheated their assets. In the course of this work, along with the preparation of presentations to potential clients, it became apparent how inter-connected the Street still is, and how beneficial a clearinghouse for pre-escheated assets would be.

Our approach: To meet the needs of the Street and help diminish the $600MM that is escheated to NYS by the Financial Industry (80% of $750MM annually), the Asset Recovery Matching System (ARMS) was conceived. ARMS will:

  • Act as a pre-escheatment clearinghouse
  • Be comprised of contractual members
  • Allow for automated matching of member assets
  • Be directed by our Asset Recovery joint venture partner, Global 21st Century Group Inc.
